Capichera


Capichera's history began in the early twentieth century, when the grandfather of today's owners inherited a farm of over 125 acres, in what is now the municipality of Arzachena. Located in the extreme north of Sardegna in an area already famed for its suitability for grape growing and winemaking. The original 25 acres of vineyards have grown to 100 acres, and additional vineyards are still being planted today.

It is on this rough land scourged by north-west winds that the Vermentino vine meets its natural environment and develops its character. On these same soils, gently touched by warm and rich sea winds the strong Carignano vine grows enriching the grapes with intense and persistent scents.

The quality of the grapes is entrusted to the highest standards of production, thanks to continual investments in terms of knowledge, personnel and equipment. Capichera's commitment to quality, displayed in red and white winemaking of international quality, and guarantees a level of authenticity in the products, which reflects the rich history and tradition of winemaking in Sardegna.

Assaje,Vino Da Tavola

Assaje is a deep ruby red color with clear purple hues. The aromas are full and strongly fruity: blackcurrants, ripe cherries, and brambles mingle pleasantly, and give way on the palate to smooth, pleasantly tangy and spicy flavors. The voice of the terroir and the Carignano grapes emerge loud and clear. The typical fragrances and aromas of Mediterranean scrubland combine with the sweet velvety structure of the wine and a characteristically strong body and lasting finish.

Capichera,Vino Da Tavola

This was the first quality wine ever made in Sardinia, and has been produced for over twenty years. The range of aromas opens gradually, from hawthorn, orange blossom, wisteria, rosemary, and thyme, to banana, and mineral hints in the finish. On the palate Capichera is complex and mouth filling, expressed in a continual succession of sweetness and acidity, with fruity hints of pineapple and citrus. In the end the aromas and flavors explode in a cascade, mingling the bouquet and a mouth filling palate that only a truly classic wine can achieve.

Mantenghja Vino Da Tavola

Unpredictable sensations of freshly crushed red currants, cherry and plum jam. Brambles over blackcurrants blend in the glass with expressions of mint and tobacco, lightly spiced with hints of coffee and chocolate. The flavor is warm and long with a full, mouth- filling, velvety, endless finish. The structure plays clearly on the warmth of the alcohol and the astringency of the tannins, as well as the fragrant acidity.

Tardiva,Vino Da Tavola

Vendemmia Tardiva was the first Vermentino in the world to be aged in barriques. This is a dry, not a sweet wine, made from late harvested grapes. Vendemmia Tardiva is a great triumph of intense enveloping Mediterranean fragrances. The luscious hints of orange blossom mingle with lemon peel, and dried aromatic herbs, from the summer fields. The complex flavor is due to ripe lively fruit and a strong structure, softened by hints of honey.
